I am looking for some guidance from a PDO on how to submit/apply AF PME for CAP credit. I looked in CAPR 50-17 Attachment 2 and it seems simple enough, I just need advice on how to apply it to the new system and/or the grandfather clause. It would be for a 1st Lt with a DOR prior to 14 August 2014 who has completed the Officer Basic Course, TIG, a Technician Rating, and the following AF PME:

Airman Leadership School
AF NCO Academy
Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education I

Any advice would be appreciated...

Send documentation (email attachment is fine) to the Registar at National. Or Professional Development folks there.

NCO academy most likely won't go for RSC. Per CAPR 50-17 CAP Senior Member Professional Development Program:

Scan the pme certificate of completion and email the PDF to lmmeforms@capnhq.gov with a cap I'd and course equivalent being requested

yeah, don't burn higher level PME on a weekend long course. You want to use that as equivalance for something like a week-long in-residence course.

I was in a similar boat.  I used my SNCOA for NCS and I took SOS to cover RSC.  If you aren't eligible to take SOS then RSC is much easier to attend (and cheaper) than NCS>

Doesn't always work I have been pursuing this for well over a year.  Talking to NHQ directly and going through channels.

Ok, that is what I was thinking as well and thank you for all of the suggestions. It would be best to save them for the higher level ones that seem to be more difficult to get to.

Also, based on the chart posted by Ozzy, NCO Academy won't work for RSC, either. It will work for OBC, though. The Senior NCO school can be used for EITHER RSC or NSC, but not both.

Also, how does the grandfather clause work for promotion?

But that SEJPME I course isn't equivalent to an Academy. It's the first of 2 SEJPME courses offered through the Joint Forces Staff College via JKO. The first is a click through the slides, the second....well, then they say 40+ hours of CBT, they mean it.

OP said that OBC is complete and is looking to use some PME for other courses.

SEJPME II is no joke.  40+ hours of mostly dry and boring materail.

I am dealing with this now with a SM in my Wing.  He wants to use his SNCOA to cover OBC.  I have been trying to talk him out of it and to use it for RSC.  He can't seem to grasp that OBC is just an online course that can be completed rather quickly and RSC is a week of time off from work.

DON'T USE MILITARY TRAINING TO COVER A CAP ONLINE COURSE!!!

Holy mother of pearl is that an understatement! I would have rather re-done a lesson on the PPBE system. A guy in my unit is taking it now and cursing my entire family tree for suggesting it to him.

Disregard.  This is what I get for multitasking.  I got two issues I'm dealing with confused.
