I loved being a Major - all the attitude of BTDT without the baggage of being one of the old farts,
at some point my voice lowered though and I had to grow up.

Congrats!

Oh boy.  Now I'm getting replies AND messages about the mugs.  It has been a while since the batch of mugs was produced.  We could always produce a batch ourselves and customize it a bit.

There ARE some mugs available from CafePress with that logo, HOWEVER, CafePress quality is kinda spotty because of the short-run methods they use.  I have owned several products from them and have never been totally satisfied with them.  They will NOT look as high-quality as those above.

Both the mugs that I got from CafePress have faded and turned crappy -- I got one for a group of which I am a member, and a different one for my grandmother.  I never even put mine in the dishwasher, but it has still turned out crappy.

Now if there's enough interest, I might be willing to produce a bunch of CAP Disgruntled Majors (possibly Disgruntled Field Grade Officers) mugs, and donate the money to my unit's needs for cadet support.

TRAVEL MUGS might be most appropriate and most useful for CAP activities....

League of Disgruntled Field Grade Officers Travel Mug?  For missions, cadet activities, meetings??

I usually put safety vests on my drinks...

Thrawn-

I do not know why Majors get oak leaves. I will bite.

Why?

So.......

2d Lts get a gold bar....because they are a valuable resource but are still soft and malleable.
1st Lts are a little more set in their ways and are given silver bars....a harder metal.
A Capt is easily worth any two Lts so we give him two bars.

Majors...get an oak leaf.....because ever since Adam and Eve we have been covering up our [male genital appendage] with leaves.

Wouldn't getting the Colonel coffee be a minor pain? After all, he does not know how he likes it.

Sugar?

Sweet and Low???

Milk?!!!

Half and Half?!!!!!!

???

Or do you think with his new grade he will be a major success?

I think the minor Major needs to get off the internet and get the Colonel his coffee! >:D

The Major will delegate the task by calling the Captain and saying, "Captain, get me a coffee for the Colonel."

Remember the Chain of Command goes down as well as it goes up!

And when the coffee provided by the Captain is not "right", who will the Colonel be looking for?
That's right, YOU!  Because he told YOU to get him his coffee.
You can't delegate responsibility, just authority! >:D

Thanks for the tip.

I will follow the Captain and supervise him delegate the task to the... 1st Lt. Then I will supervise the 1st Lt delegate the task to the... 2nd Lt. Then supervise the 2nd Lt delegate the task to the... NCO.

Then I will rest, since NCOs always do the job right, right?  ;)

Ordered two pairs of Major grades from Vanguard last Saturday or Sunday, the 20 or 21. I thought they came OK. They arrived today... 25 Nov...

After I scanned them, I see what may be some irregularities.

On 3 of them, the Field Officer line appears to be slanted. The letters CAP on one of them the letters also appear slanted, C on a lower line than A, with the P being taller higher. One of the points on one of the leaves seems either broken off or rounded in a fat way. I did not see these things until I scanned them. Otherwise they are same.

Those are better than the sets I bought four years ago. Slightly worse than the lt col ones I got today.

My promotion to Major has been accepted and posted by NHQ!!!

Effective as of I guess today 18 Nov 2016, so it is still a VERY SHINY leaf.

I promise I will keep on trying to be a major influence to cadets and senior members alike...

LATORRECA

Gentlemen, I made it to Major this past weekend. Great time ahead and continue mentoring all members, peers, and most importantly the cadets.
