Finding Carla - Book About the Oien/Corbus Plane Crash

The book "Finding Carla" by Ross Nixon, about the 1967 Oien/Corbus plane crash, was just published. The plane crashed in Northern California with a family of three onboard. It wasn't found for almost 10 months. When it was, a diary revealed that a 16 year old, Carla Corbus, survived for some 54 days. The search and diary were significant factors in creating the US laws requiring ELTs.

Ross interviewed family members, searchers and one of the two people who found the wreck and diary. Some of these people have died since he talked with them. The book also contains the full diary, as well as letters the family wrote while waiting to be found.
