Got an interesting notice from the FAA Safety folks last night.  Seems there was a meeting of sorts in the recent past of selected CFI's, Professional Pilots, and FAA Reps looking at possible changes to the pilot training system we have so "enjoyed" over the years.  Yesterday I received a copy of the draft and the PTS has gone away.  The new is called Airman Certification Standards (ACS).  Several obsolete references and requirements have gone away.  Some areas of operation have been combined, some clarified (all stalls will be full stalls), and the formatting much improved.  They have also split out Single Engine Airplane, Multi Engine Airplane, and Seaplane into their own sections.  The open comment period is now, BUT IT CLOSES MAY 24, 2013.

ARMY:  Because even the Marines need heros.
CAVALRY:  If it were easy it would be called infantry.

thanks -- this is worth a post

(4000 hrs dual given gave me an excuse for shooting-off my two cents, but everyone else should feel free, too)

We're going to be teaching this, not just for private & instrument but for everything, so this is the future of flight instruction.
