Aloha,

Now that the DDR specialty track is gone, are squadrons still conducting DDR specific activites or have they been incorporated into CDI?  As our Squadron's DDR Officer for the past two years, we have done a 1 hour monthly discussion and/or activity just for DDR.  Our weekly agendas are packed solid and I have been considering working with our CDI Officer to integrate elements of DDR into his program so we can free up more time for actual CAP items - ES, AE, etc..

I would like to hear what other Squadrons have done with their DDR program or if it is business as usual.  Thanks Much!

For us, it is business as usual to the best of my knowledge.

The DDR function has been rolled into Cadet Programs, not CDI or Chaplain.

Correct.  The PD specialty track may be evolving / changing, but the staff function and duties have not / will not. If anything
there will probably be a renewed emphasis on the core expectations once things are at a steady state.

We've taken the direction of rolling DDR content into CD and other activities as we go, where able. Similar to how you can find a parallel topic that works for safety, and accomplish the needed briefings.

But Chaplains are supposedly required to stick to the Flight Time Pub.

According to Table 4-2 in CAPR 52-16, DDR activities count towards the 1 hour minimum requirement for monthly character instruction. They're not asking the chaplain to step out of his defined lane, they're just adding something (and, hopefully, someone) else to the mix.
