Because it is Vanguard?
Sometimes I wonder who really has control over what Vanguard can or can't sell when it comes to CAP related articles. Memobillias, luggages, items with "U.S. Civil Air Patrol", etc...

I enjoy the items like suit bags and the like, and I think they should sell them.  However, uniform items.

Maybe the problems lies is us.  A whistle is an ES.  I used to wear a small lanyard and whistle when on ES duties...a cadet gave me a much better one and, of course, the uniform NATIONAL SOCIALISTS pointed it out as a violation of some sort?!?

That is why I have decided to use a bugle.

What movie could be so bad that you'd rather do a CAPTalk uniform thread on your blackberry?

Who ever said Whisles are verboten?

I carry on with with my field gear....in fact it is requred for GTs.

One can carry one while in blues.

Certain CAP events add it as a permanent visible part of the uniform. Also I have heard of 1Sgts thinking that it's their badge of office and wear it exposed at all times.

Oh I understand....CAWG used to do this IIRC......but saying something is verboten and wondering why Vanguard sells it....implies that one is not allowed to even have a whistle at all.

AAFES sells whistles, too.  Does that mean that they are somehow implying that it would be OK to wear a whistle as part of a USAF uniform?

The fact that a major retailer sells an item that some CAP members want to buy just doesn't seem all that strange to me.

Sounds like good customer service.

Persona non grata

For the record.......I am pro whistle :o

I carry an od one in my flight bag.
Rock, Flag & Eagle.........

Persona non grata

I just got off the phone with the VG rep.  They stated that they will start selling ultramarine blue and white face paint so that we are distinctive from combat ground forces :D

What in the world is this for?

That is in place to improve Vanguard's bottom line. If I were a betting man, I would bet that it serves its purpose well.
