CAP Historical Exhibits?

Anyone got a list of ALL the CAP historical exhibits in the US?

Are there any at the AF museum as well as the National Space Museum (or annex)?

By the way this came up in the last month or so. The answer is yes.
1. Memorial bench commemorating the 50 anniversary of CAP
2. CAP plane in colors. A Piper cub if I remember but it could be a Champion.
3. Uniform exhibit.

EAA Museum in Oshkosh WI has some items.    I remember seeing them two years ago, but they where not out this year.  It was in a display with Civil Defense items.  Also they do have some old Pilot and Observer Wing in a case on the upper deck.  If you are interested I might even have a photo or two.

I know of one at the Dare County Airport in Maneto,NC. The airport has a museum there dedicated to CAP Costal Patrol Base 16 and NAS Weeksville.

Looking at the site, it's obvious it hasn't been updated for several years. For example Bill Schell died last year.

The site also references a "future" CAP Coastal Patrol reunion at Rehoboth Beach in 2005.
Does anyone know if this event still occurs?

This display is small, but still present.  It is located in the WWII hangar in the back of the building along the West wall.  It is midway down the wall underneath the large map.  It has several uniform items in it as well as some pamphlets I believe.

You forgot to add that the museum has a CAP amphibian that was used in a WW II rescue and earned the crew Air Medals. The museum also has a Stinson that may or may not have been used during the anti-sub operations, and there's a glass display case with uniforms and wing patches.

The Air Force Museum also has a Ryan 24 that was used by the CAP during World War II and a Presidential Aircraft used by President Eisenhower that was operated by CAP.

The Lucille Wright Air Museum at the Jamestown Airport is named after a woman who flew courier duty in World War II. There is a CAP display and lots of AE stuff. There is a display in the airport showing a photo of her, in uniform, at the controls of a Stinson. She had either returned from a courier sortie or was about to launch on one. The airport itself is named in honor of her husband, John, who was a World War II CAP Major, group commander and pilot. In World War II, the CAP squadron at the airport suffered a costal patrol casulty: 1Lt. William Hite, who was flying costal patrol missions from Maine. The current unit's squadron patch is mostly red in honor of that historical link.

Wow, I must not have paid much attention. I missed the #2 last July when visiting.. I'll have something to go back to look for next July though ;-)
