Title: CAP Air Medals?
Post by: DrDave on July 12, 2008, 01:28:24 AM
Say, I'm working on a presentation and need to know how many Air Medals CAP members have been awarded over the years.

I know the first two of WWII went to CAP pilots, but don't know how many more CAP has won.

Thanks,
Dr. Dave

CAP Historical Monograph #2: Air Medals published in 1984 (possibly available through Vanguard) says 824 were awarded to CAP members for WWII service.  Never heard of any being given out since then.

Criteria for most awards were 200 hours of over-water flight (If you did coastal patrols for the Army you only had to fly 100 hours to get the same award).
