Good grief...makes me feel old, because I remember the "Tiger in your Tank" adverts for domestic gas ("petrol"). I was very young at the time....!), and we had a Tiger tail on the tank cap, free from the petrol station with a purchase of fuel! Good days....
Not wanting to take us down a rabbit hole, but somewhere there's a Shell Film Unit production about the development of aviation fuel and their association with the RAF.
