Hey all,
I have a question. I am my Sqdns PDO, AO, PO. I have a member in the unit that is a patron member and he has been coming back to meetings and they CC says that yes we should UnPatron him (If that is even a word). However, neither he or myself can figure out where in services one would navigate to in order to do that. Can anyone please help? thanks.
You have to submit another application to national to change a member from Patron Status to Active Member status.
Per CAPR 39-2:
Quote4.2.1.8.
Transfer to active member status upon meeting active member qualifications. (See paragraph 4.2.3.1. below.)
Quote
4.2.3.
Transfers to patron member status will be submitted to National Headquarters on CAPF2A. Section II, Duty Assignment/Status Change, will be used, i.e., transfer from " Active Status" to "Patron Status." The original copy of the CAPF 2A will be forwarded directly to National
Headquarters and the file copy placed in the members' personnel file.
4.2.3.1.
Members desiring to transfer back to active status will use the same procedure above; however, if not previously validated, Commanders must also validate the individual's proof of identity and annotate the Form 2a accordingly. Acceptable documents for proof of
identity are the same documents required on the Form I-9 for employment eligibility verification. See attachment 2 for a list of these documents.
Note:
Patron members transferring to active status who have not previously completed the FBI screening procedures must include a FD Form 258 with the CAPF 2A.
Just fill out a 2A, transferring patron to active in duty assignment and send to member services at national.
ahh so there is no way to do it in eserv... That makes sense as to why I couldnt find it online. thanks all.
Yeah, you have to do it manually. Make sure you annotate the top of the form in big bold letters what that form is for! It helps make sure it goes to the right people.
And ... of course ... make sure all the necessary boxes are filled out ... signatures located where needed ... you keep a copy ... la dee da...
