NOLA last week...

Deicer sloshes across the plane:

LANOIA is actually pretty nice, apparently having been recently redone, but seriously who's idea was it to put
the only coffee shops outside TSA? I spent about 5 hours there waiting for the ORD ground stop to lift and jonesing
for the D&D that was within sight but not reach.

The view from my room (on the "noisy" side of the Courtyard):

Was told no trip to the Big Easy is complete without a stop here:

(disappointed they did not have real breakfast food after about a 45 minute walk.)

My attempt at a postcard shot:

Back to Vegas next week, staying in the pyramid...

Hi !

I am new to CAP. I am a sophomore at Waubonsee High School in Aurora. Anyone else from Illinois?

Plenty of people from ILWG here. Welcome.

Yup! I'm ILWG!

Part of me getting active again in CAP meant my 6 1/2 year old son had to tag along to meetings.  He's made a lot of friends there, to include a young cadet who isn't muych bigger than he is.  He calls him his "best friend".

My son found the smallest pair of jungle boots I've ever seen in a locker at the squadron a few weeks ago and said "dad, now that I have boots, I need BDUs."  I couldn't resist, I ordered a pair of kid sized BDUs for him and threw on a flag and name tapes.

Here is the result:

PS: He was watching T-Flight all night, learning to salute, and I didn't even notice he saluted until I saw the picture.  Also, today, he told me he had to shine his boots.  I love it!

That's a good salute, especially for 6.5 year old. :)

Both him & dad are quite the poster children. :)

Niiiice. But will there be an action figure?  You could even buy a boxed set of father & son--snivel gear not included!   :P

That's what I was referring to, but I was wondering whether there'd be a mini-UK/UK & son figure added to the collection.

After looking at the pic again, I realized mini-UK already has the 1000-yard stare, and (assumably) he didn't get it in the Boz, either...

I did mustache March for the first time this year.  It turned out something like this:

No joke, either.  I started a week late, and in three days I had the stache in the bottom picture.  Last year at encampment, I was shaving three times a day.
