Cool.  Thanks, NHQ.  I like this.   :)

Members in Your Unit Features
24 Apr 2007

You can now gain access to the email addresses of members in your unit simply by clicking on the number of Seniors, Cadets, or All Members in your unit on the front page of eServices. This will direct you to a new page that can be used to gather addresses for emailing members in your unit. By checking the checkboxes next to each member and clicking "Gather Emails", you can then copy and paste the addresses into your favorite email service.

Of course, it would help out if the members kept the information in E-Services up to date.  ;D

I tried to send out a message to a number of cadets about the SWR CLS, but about 25% of the emails were no longer valid.

Good new feature, good job NHQ  :)

That's because they realize that "toohot4u@yahoo.com" doesn't look to good on a resume... >:D

That is always a big issue.  I always encourage units to do verifications once per quarter.  Good thing for the Personnel Officer to be doing.  Then there's a lot of out of date e-mails for inactive folks...guess there isn't much we can do about that (EXCEPT FINALLY implement a system to designate active/inactive in eServices!).

I don't know about your wings, but the last 2 I've been in have a WING-00 charter so units can "transfer" inactive members out of their squadrons and into a "holding" squadron.  It leaves only active members on your roster.[/off topic]

Our wing does not -- our wing would not.  At least the squadrons anyway.  Their piece of the state appropriation money, I understand, has to do with number of members.  Besides, having this info searchable by unit could be beneficial in a lot of ways.

Umm...PAWG has an old unit......that was used as a holding SQD up until 1997.  It currently has one (1) person in it.  She has since passed away (over 7 years ago).  Got to love Pennsylvania.

---most of the PA Wing State Appropriations go right to HAWK MOUNTAIN.  After the $500,000 comes in, one-third (1/3) goes to that crappy piece of real estate.
What's up monkeys?

Having just used it, I think it's a great tool. It is the kind of thing that an ITO would develop for their unit.

I made something like this a while back, but you needed to download CAPWatch and all, so this is good to have.  They need to do more stuff like this.

That's why I have created ColganMart...so I can raise funds for the take-over, and put things into place down there.   >:D

It's hard to figure out profit when you don't have exact costs.   :-\  I've been collecting this stuff so long that I don't remember how much I've paid to acquire some of it.  Wasn't really planning on running a major business operation...

Another new eServices feature that is high-speed:

Commander's Corner Update
27 Apr 2007

New to Commanders Corner - A new link will show up now under commanders corner back to a page resembling the one under the New Members in your Unit feature with an added column called Days until Membership Lapses. Members who need to renew within the next 60 days will show up under this link so commanders can easily remind members they need to renew their membership.

RiverAux

This info has been available to commanders for at least a decade or more on the membership rosters that CAP used to send out (don't know if they're still doing it) to every unit on a monthly basis.  Has been available on an e-services report for several years as well.  So, nothing new here, BUT I am happy to see that they're making it much easier to find and noticable to commanders.  That is progress.

Last time I saw an MML, it had this info, but it's nice that they are putting stuff all in one place and easy to find.   :)  10 points for NHQ.  We should draw up a list of things we want in eServices.   ;D

I would like to see an "OPT OUT" button in E-Services.  This button would allow me to OPT out of being subject to numerous uniform changes and increases in membership dues.

You have that option.  Either fill out a Form 2b or don't renew your membership.  It's that easy...

Well that's not true...they expanded the pants option to be not just dress pants.  What's nice is this uniform also comes in 3 combinations...with name, without name, cheap version (the one I have).   :)
