Philip C. Saleet, 75, of Newport, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at his home.

Philip was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 8, 1946, to the late Emmett and Madge Saleet. Following high school, Philip joined the United States Navy where he bravely served during the Vietnam War. Having a long career with the airlines, Philip started with Piedmont Airlines and retired from US Airways in 2001.

In 1985, he and his family moved to North Carolina where he was involved with various groups including, Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts Troop 61 in Newport and the VFW in Cape Carteret and Newport. His wealth of knowledge, patience, kind personality and patriotism, allowed him to be an asset wherever he went.

Philip is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of over 50 years, Patricia Saleet of the home; daughter, Erin S. Clark and husband Denis of Beaufort; sons, Emmett L. Saleet and wife Sara of Berlin, NH and Eric C. Saleet and wife Shannon of Bessemer City, NC; and grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Nicholas, Payton, Zenley, Mazlyn and Dylan.
