The 800 series was set up for School Squadrons.  We have two such units in our wing.

The Organization table in CAPWATCH has the entire country, would be quite easy to find in there.

I see 60 of them nationwide.

Our 800 squadron is a composite squadron. Maybe it started as a school one?

is it an after school program, or in school? and if in school, who staffs it as senior members?

I know of several that started out as a school squadron. The school distract lost interest or lost the teacher and CAP moved it to a comp squadron. Kept the 800 number, just not counted as a school unit anymore.

I noticed a couple of wings have a "Group 800" and may number regular squadrons like that, but not sure.

The NHQ one is NHQ-888...the AOPA Members squadron.

Depends on the program. Locally, CAP is an elective high school course. The teacher and a couple of administrators are CAP members, and the unit meets 2 or 3 times per week. The students get credit for the course.

The School Initiative momentum and actual interest fell off big time when NHQ stopped paying for Cadets/ students Membership Fees a few years back.  Unfortunate that many Wings pushed for school programs in poorer iner city areas.
