Attention all post and patrols, be advised, reaper 8 had declared an in flight emergancy. Reaper 8 is currently inbound on final to runway 9. It has 2 souls, 1,000 pounds of munitions and 9,000 pounds of fuel onboard. How do you copy whisky one, bravo one, police one, defender one?

Heard all the goodies everyday at work! Miss those days...

These days, "Reaper 8" would have zero souls on board, the pilot would be sitting in a comfy chair sipping chai latte flying via his datalink, and wouldn't engage in comm with the manned aircraft frantically maneuvering to avoid his blissfully ignorant UAV transiting their airspace.

Formation UAVs?

However, every one says that the phrase, "Be Advised" is bad form.
I've never thought it was bad form and I can't say that anyone I've met has been irritated at it either. There are so many other bad habits to break people out of that this is a non-issue in my book. I got laughed at many times at my first Volunteer Department when I was still active duty because I would call in "Engine Six-Zero-One" instead of the accepted "six-oh-one", I also can't get over "say again" instead of "repeat". I often use "be advised" when I have an addendum or am relaying, it gives the recipient a heads up and tells them to pay attention to pertinent information. I suppose it all comes down to where you learned your craft.

Per our GAWG Director of Communications this week, ""We've just been notified by the USAF Call Sign Manager that the GAWG call sign has been changed to LANDING GEAR effective immediately... It is befitting that "Landing Gear" has been assigned to the GA Wing, after all the landing gear carries the weight of the aircraft. Therefore, effective today we will no longer use GACAP".

Some of us initially thought this was a late April Fools joke, but it seems not so. One of my pilots (a Delta Captain, retired USAF C-130 driver and former cadet) commented that there'll be a lot of confusion on the radios as pilots from around the region start hearing "Landing Gear" – I think the appropriate response should  be "Down – 3 Green".

So, I'll be ready to come back with a "BE ADVISED... "!

In CAP's case "down and welded" seems more appropriate...

Although I did MO in a 172RG once. "Hey, look out the window and make sure the gear is down."

Reminds me of the old joke "If you have to use full power to taxi, chances are good that you forgot to put the gear down".
I have complete faith in the continued absurdity of what ever is going on.
