Melinda passed August 10, 2019 at her sister's home following an extended illness.
Born in Dickson, Melinda was the daughter of the late Charles Gilbert Tipton and Dorothy Nell Lewis Tipton (Bruce).  She was a graduate of Dickson County High School, a Bachelor of Arts graduate of East Tennessee State University, and had several hours of post-graduate study towards her Masters' Degree at Austin Peay State University.  She was employed by the State of Tennessee in the Department of Human Services.  Melinda's interests included work in genealogy, reading science fiction, and her love of family and her cats.  She will be greatly missed by her husband, her siblings, and her nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Timothy Tipton and a sister, Dorothy Anne Tipton.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Edward Jaggers, Bon Aqua; her brother, Jeffrey Tipton, Dickson; her sisters, Rosemary Hackney (Ron), Mt. Juliet, CherryLee Buchanan (Donald), Bon Aqua, and Heather Jean Bruce, Dickson; and several nieces and nephews.
