Title: Color Guard uniform detail
Post by: Castle Bravo on April 20, 2018, 12:56:00 PM
Hey, just wondering because I couldn't find anything specific in the uniform manual but am I correct in assuming that regular color guards do not wear the male service cap? That's just for cadet officers and Honor Guards right?

That would be correct. Color Guard wears their uniforms to regular CAP standard (plus flag/rifle belts and gloves) - they don't follow the Honor Guard uniform manual in any way. Tip: if it doesn't specifically allow it, then it's not allowed.

Bear in mind that scarves, white gloves white/black belts, and helmets are authorized by the Wing Commander, not the Squadron Commander.

That is a great point.  To expand on it a little further, only the Wing Commander (or above) has authority to supplement 39-1 to authorize any additional uniform item and it has to be in a written supplement approved by NHQ and published on the capmembers.com site.
