Latest projections have Irma hitting Florida Saturday and Sunday. I hope Florida Wing is moving their planes north.

While the Texas Mission may still be ongoing for weeks ... looks like we may have to gear up for a similar size response in Florida and possibly south Georgia.

And what about Puerto Rico Wing?  Yeah, we have a tendency to forget about them.  :)  Any one know what PRWG is doing right now?

FLWG is well aware and monitoring the situation.

The track of the storm into Florida is still uncertain. Many of the models keep the storm along the east coast of Florida. No matter the track, there will be significant impacts to southern Florida...

As mentioned earlier, the track of the storm into Florida will then in turn have a huge influence on what we are dealing with in GA and SC.
This latest track keeps the storm over land much longer, in a higher shear environment and we will expect to see a decent weakening in the storm, with it between tropical storm and hurricane strength over Georgia...
However, due to the size of this storm, this track would still cause coastal flooding (storm surge) concerns along the GA and SC coast. Heavy rain, strong winds and possible tornadoes would all still be possible across the states of GA and SC as well.

I'd stress to be careful from jumping on every official forecast and to watch the trend ...
Confidence will increase as we begin to see consecutive runs showing a similar path.

Irma compared to Andrew, Andrew on the left.

Models starting to agree she may march right up the middle.

Disney still open, planning on staying open through Saturday evening.  I would imagine
you won't need FastPass to get on the rides this weekend, queues should be short.

Gee-Zus - It's like a movie from the Asylum.

Seriously, I was pretty dismissive of Harvey generally, but this...these images all but take my breath away
every time I see them, and they just keep getting worse.

Forget questions about CAP response, this could be a serious problem for the Federal Government.

And yet, still pales in comparison to Typhoon Tip at 1,380 mi diameter and 190 mph winds.

Is there going to be any Cuba outside of Havana left?

Several state and Federal agencies have established Open Data portals that directly support disaster operations for Hurricane Irma.
Access to the sites does not require a log-in, all are publicly accessible.

- These open data sites aggregate the most relevant and best available data, apps, and web maps in a single place to support Hurricane Irma response and recovery across all levels of government and whole community partners.
