How about a minimum post count, like for posting images, instead of just purely locking everything due to age.
There are times when things might just be worth adding to.
That isn't possible given the forum software. Don't forget that you can always ask for a specific topic to be unlocked. Either "report" the thread, or send a link to one of us moderators with a short message asking for it to be reopened.
