Being Android based, the DJI Smart Controller has many issues with trying to use software to create and fly mapping grids. Some apps like DroneDeploy are iPad or iPhone only.

Here is a very simple workaround using DJI software (5 minute video):

"Don't try to explain it, just bow your head
Breathe in, breathe out, move on ..."
