Title: How often is RST required?
Post by: xray328 on July 15, 2018, 03:30:45 AM
If a cadet staffs multiple encampments in a year are they required to attend RST at every one or would attending the training once cover them and if so for how long?

RST is required to be completed for every encampment.

CAPR 60-1, Page 10.
https://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/media/cms/CAPR_601__Cadet_Program_Management__36D2A228D5925.pdf

"2.4.2. Required Staff Training. RST is a course in positive leadership that mitigates the risk of hazing.
Cadet cadre and adult training staff present for the duration of an encampment or a national cadet special
activity designated by CAP/CP will complete the RST each time they participate in such activities. Course
materials are found in CAPP 60-72, Required Staff Training."

There has also been gouge going around that you must have completed RST in the past year. This is untrue, as Eclipse pointed out from the reg.

You have to complete RST with every Encampment. It's not based on previous training history or a timeline.

Consider it a refresher and introduction to the protocols of that particular Encampment.
