As was pointed out by Farva,  This is Capt Dahls opinion, not the creators.  I think that you are making more out of it than it really is.  Could you be right, sure, but I doubt it.  Give it time and see how it pans out; if you are right, I'll let you tell me "I told you so."

Gunner, it's a bloody comic strip!  If it upsets you then don't read it! ::)

Plus, if you read the backgrounds of the characters you'll see that one of the points of Dahl is that while he's a pretty good pilot and asset to the USAF, he's also kind of a tool - a conglomeration of all the hot-poop El-Tee's Farva has seen over his time who think a butter bar means something in and of itself.

The whole idea is that most of the time he picks the wrong thing to say or do, while still being mostly likable.

I take it as a compliment that we're mentioned at all.

It is. Farva, from what I know, is fairly supportive of CAP. He even took some time to hang out with some cadets at the SUPTFC at Laughlin a few years ago when he was stationed there.

Honestly, if he was anti-CAP or didn't have any respect for the organization I doubt he would waste his artistic talent on us.

Where was he upset?  He was actually agreeing with the content of the strips.

Pretty much.  And remember - humor works best when there's an element of truth to it.  The part that's really telling are the comments after the strip.  There's a lot of AF folks that don't care for us.  Just a fact.

I don't see much of anything like that in the comments...

I'm not saying there haven't been issues in the past, just not much in this thread.  There's were plenty of people who didn't "get" it with the Murphy cartoons.

I'm hoping Farva is going to go all out and really skewer CAP...  He is funny and talented and I for one am glad he is poking fun at CAP.

Because the SCP comic has a somewhat similar story to the current AFB storyline that involve 1) predators, 2) pilots acting silly, and 3) pointed humor about CAP and thought the comparison might have been of interest to some and didn't think it was worth a thread of its own.

Anyone catch Farva's last 'tweet'?

Heading to lunch with Nevada Wing CAP PAO.

Quite a few AD people read AF Blues, and any positive word put in there for CAP will help raise awareness of CAP, and maybe encourage a few people to check us out. It's positive press, targeted at the military, certainly that's not a bad thing.

How much you want to bet that "surrogate predator," what Farva's doing right now in NV, and ending of the whole Barbie-CAP-EQ-3 dealie have a LOT more to do with each other than we presently know?

Just guessin' here..
