I would hold off on buying any boots right now if you can. With the status of the OCP uniform up in the air, and which boots (black, coyote, or both) will be authorized with it is also undecided, I would not spend the money on expensive quality boots until the final decision is made and approved.

I would go to the closest Army/Navy Surplus Store and try and find a pair of old GI-issue combat boots and use those in the interim.

That depends. What's your terrain like? What's your typical mission (GT, UDF, flightline)? What's your average weather like? I've had luck with these, and they won't break the bank.
