My tech rating was just approved today and that was my last step for completion of Level II.  With my upcoming move it will be time to  start looking @ Level III .

Great. Have you sent in the CAPF 24 yet?

Where are you moving to?

spacecommand

Fantastic, once you complete the CAPF24 and your commander approves it, they can email it direct to NHQ, which records it pretty quickly.

If you have not done your Yeager test yet, get it done before you submit for level II completion, that way you get a spiffy gold seal on your Davis Certificate.

The paperwork for my level II has been submitted already to our group here.  I am moving from the wonderful bay area down to Tucson at the end of next month. And the Yeager was accomplished shortly after I joined and I received it before I was promoted back in Mar I want to say.

spacecommand

Ah so it goes through the Group in CA wing?

CAPF24 for level II only requires your unit CC and it can go direct to NHQ.

abdsp51

Per the email I have it was sent to the group for them to approve.  I set out to have my Level II done before coming to Lackland for school and by the time I left all that was left was just my tech rating in CP.  That was accomplished shortly before flying out and the final stone was just waiting the couple weeks to hit my 6 mos mark for filling the duty position.  I'm taking the time to just ease off for a little bit, now all I have to do is the TIG and performance to move to 1st Lt then Capt.

Interesting..Level III and above require higher approval after the Unit CC, but Level II should be approved by the unit CC then to NHQ for processing:

Page 2 of the CAPF24:

Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. award:

a. Complete Item 8.Unit commander approves and forwards original to NHQ CAP/DP, Building 714, 105 South Hansell Street, Maxwell AFB AL 36112-6332.Retain one copy for unit file.

(can be emailed direct to NHQ instead of snail mail).

I saw that too but CA wg as others can attest to is it's own animal.

From what I've seen adding additional layers of pointless complexity on top of regulation is right up there in the list of things that drive away members.

abdsp51

True, but I'm tenacious enough to stay on top of it.

My CAPF 24 for Level II went directly from the squadron to NHQ. No group grope needed. I'm in CAWG, and this was done back in '03.

Which boggles my mind here.  As long as the Squadron CC has signed off on the CAPF24 for Level II, NHQ is going to record it.
Mine was posted into eservices within 48 hours of it being emailed direct from my squadron CC to NHQ.

Heck there's not even a space on the form for the Group CC to sign off on the CAPF24, nor is it required for Level II. @_@

Sending a CAPF 24 for level II to group for approval is not required in CAWG. Doing so will most certainly delay the process. The Squadron Commander should send the approved form directly to NHQ,  preferably as an attachment to an email sent to Lmmeforms@capnhq.gov.

It's all good.  Paperwork was sent to NHQ for Level II, 2a approved for leadership award and I've completed it all right around the time I set out to do.

abdsp51

Level II approved and registered as of 10 Sep.

Very nice!

I've been trying to get mine to go through since March. I still haven't gotten an answer on why it won't go through.
CAP is what you make of it. If you don't put anything in to it, you won't get anything out of it.

Typical CT: stew about it for six months then complain here!  ;)

For the other PD awards, I used to first set out to find the road block. Here there's only one desk: the Professional Development Registrar. I doubt that she has let it sit in her "In Basket" for six months. Assuming that everything was proper on your CAPF 24, if you follow the instructions and the squadron sends it directly to NHQ, it should appear in eServices within hours.

Hee hee, Thanks Astra!

I've sent the forms in, and even talked with NHQ. All the did was tell me to look at the regs for it. I quoted the regs in my next email, along with the attachment (again), and still nothing. My squadron PDO has done the same, and no response. I'm going to check on it again tomorrow.

Fun stuff...  ;)
