Here is a question?  Why is there no privacy act statement on the membership application?  And is there a privacy act statement on any CAP forms?

PHall

Probably because other then the Membership Applications, most CAP forms do not ask for your SSAN.

IIRC, the Privacy Act only applies for stuff that has your SSAN on it.

Privacy Act covers mainly SSN but does include anything that is considered PII.  I was looking at my application and didn't see anything in regards to it, but did see that if you don't provide then basically you can't join.

Wasn't there some guidance recently to redact forms that had the SSN once they were sent?

Because CAP is not the Federal Government and the Privacy Act relates to the FED.  Remember the sentence that allows allows CAP to do whatever it feels like at any time without regard to law  ---> "Membership is a privilege, not a right".
