Title: Boxing a non-US flag
Post by: Eclipse on March 17, 2019, 10:56:32 PM
Is there an appropriate way to box or otherwise display a non-US flag?

We've recently had a charter retired and I would like to see something other then
"under a file cabinet" happen to the flag and its streamers.

Doesn't seem right to put it in a tri-point case like a US flag.

It's too big to be framed unfolded. I was thinking something either square or rectangular
so yo can read the name and see the streamers.

I don't think the triangle is necessarily inappropriate, but I think something like this would work well for a non-US flag (even though one is pictured), fold the flag so it displays the most prominent crest or design of the flag, and fold the streamers on the other end.(http://i0.wp.com/getwinewisenow.co/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/united-states-flag-display-case-flag-cases-large-rectangular-flag-and-medal-case-military-flag-display-cases.jpg)

He's talking about a unit flag. He wants to be able to show the unit's name and their streamers.

Maybe something like this...   it's 25"x16".
