Retired Master Sergeant Dennis Clair Daniel, 83, of Kenbridge, Virginia went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2021. He was the son of the late Linwood and Mary Daniel and the brother of the late Carlton Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Edwards Daniel and his son Mark Clair Daniel (Elena). After graduating from Brunswick High School, Dennis joined the United States Air Force in 1957 where he served four years. He was later a supervisor at KenLea at Kenbridge, Virginia before joining the Virginia Army National Guard and working at MATES at Camp Pickett, Blackstone, Va. from 1965 until he retired as a Master Sergeant on January 12, 1998. Dennis loved flying and always loved to go to an airport and watch airplanes. He became a private pilot and eventually earned a commercial, instrument and finally an instructor's rating. He was a flight instructor for many years teaching local pilots. Dennis was also a 45-year member of the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol reaching the rank of Lt. Colonel and holding the rating of a Mission Pilot. His interest in aviation also encompassed membership on the Lunenburg Airport Commission. He was also a 50-year member of the Freemasons and a member of the Victoria Lodge, Victoria, Va. as well as a member and former deacon of the Kenbridge Christian Church. He loved his canine little buddy Scooter and the two could be seen all over town together.
