For those of you who couldn't attend Tuesday's meeting, It is my sad duty to report that Lt Col William T. Croghan, Jr passed away on 8 November 2018.

A native of New York and 20-year Las Vegas resident, Col Croghan was a CAP member for 35 years. Over his career, he served as a squadron commander, emergency services officer, operations officer, and communications officer. For many years he was the NV Wing director of communications. He reached level IV of the professional development program, achieving the Paul Garber award in 1997.

Col Croghan was a sergeant in the United States Air Force and an active member of the Henderson Composite Squadron from the time of its standing up until his recent illness. He taught communications to our members from its founding.

Bill retired from a long career in broadcast communications as the Chief Engineer for Lotus Broadcasting where he oversaw eight radio stations. He also worked as a DJ, radio and TV newsman, a professional photographer and an adjunct instructor at the College of Southern Nevada. He was active in ham radio since 1962 and was selected as the Arizona Ham Radio operator of the year in 1991.

Bill volunteered for and supported nearly every public service activity which required amateur radio communications, including Civil Air Patrol.

Col Croghan was a dedicated volunteer, communicator and CAP member. His loss will felt by our squadron, wing and all of CAP.
