Title: IC Checklist/Package
Post by: Stonewall on February 09, 2024, 03:08:14 PM
Specifically for CAP, is there an Incident Commander (IC) on-site checklist that anyone is aware of? Or maybe a "go bag" type kit for an IC?

Example: You're called in to a CAP mission or exercise with an established ICP and you've been designated as the mission IC.

Is there such a "package" or "kit" that anyone has created? Even a checklist?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Alaska Wing has a page full of IC resources: https://akwg.cap.gov/programs/es/sar-incident-commander-mission-resources-kit

What CAP seriously needs to do is adopt the same exact format as the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and FEMA with National checklists very similar to already published ICS standards. I've seen Supplements to 60-3 for simple things Sectionals and Delorme map for issues of locality.

Supplement such as these are time consuming and easily adoptable rather than spending bandwidth and going thru maze of desks for approval.

IC kits should have been adopted to National responder standards since 1985 with FIRESCOPE and the FEMA taskbooks adopted from NWCG in the last 15 yrs
