Is there anything cadets receive to commemorate their first year? I know there is a 2-year commemorative ribbon.

Locally, a unit might present a certificate, or a "hearty handclap," or maybe a "Wow, you've been with us for a whole year!"

Nationally, you get...a renewal notice.

It's not a 'commemorative' ribbon, it's a SERVICE ribbon. Awarded for two years of service to CAP.

A QCUA point for their squadron for renewing as a first year cadet.
