We've discussed Ender's Game a number of times here. It continues to be on my recommended
reading list for CAP members, especially those involved in Cadet Programs...

For those of you who may have seen the movie but didn't read the book(s), I would highly recommend taking the time.
I think many would agree that while the parts depicted in the film were well done and pretty faithful to the story,
there's just too much of the book's important parts that are internal narratives and difficult to depict in a short-form movie.
It would have probably been better served as a long-form cable series vs. a one-shot movie.

The main gist of the story is the interpersonal dynamics of children and adolescents coupled with the pressures of
putting them in positions of authority and / or responsibility (which is why it is so applicable to CAP), not
to mention the adults in their lives who have to balance what is best for the kids while also preparing for
what they believe to be an extinction-level war with earth (the best for them vs. best for CAP / the whole is something
CAP leaders struggle with all the time).

I stumbled upon this in Audible, which was a very happy accident:
(Since it's from 2013, I realize I'm behind the curve, but there you go.

It's a full audio dramatization of the same story, but with some slightly different angles, and
a lot of fill-in details not featured in the original. The latter, especially, was really enjoyable for me
as I'm always looking for some way to revisit this universe.

Even better - if you have Amazon Prime, it's available for free through the Amazon Prime Audible Channels.

Since it's written by Orson Scott Card, the assumption is these details are canon to the series,
and it again features Stefan Rudnicki who will always be Col Graff to me.

Nice find! I will have my son listen. He loves audiobooks more than reading.  :P

Card has rewritten the story five or six times now, editing the details with every new edition (some say he's angling for more cash, others that he's simply updating the story to reflect the march of time, e.g. the fall of the USSR). While I have nearly two dozen Card novels/novellas upstairs (including an original Enders Game in short story format from IASFM back in the 80's when I was a cadet) I may skip yet another edit.  Thanks for the link though, its a great story in any format (I think).

I didn't realize he was updating the story.  I may need to give it another look, as I read it back in...1986-7, I believe.
