Not really my cup of tea, but with the summer season rapidly approaching, there
are likely to be good deals on gear and toys not only in the stores closing but
in the remaining stores as well, not to mention attempts by competitors Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops
to snag ex-patriot customers.
I enjoy wandering around in these stores, but everything always looks overpriced to me, and
most of the toys I'd buy I actually have no use for.

Brick n' mortar stores are having a hard time. I guess there are way too many stores competing for way too few customers who want to walk through the isles and leave with a purchase or three.

Why would closing down some stores turn their customers into "ex-patriots?"
(I think you meant "expatriates").
