Title: 1946: Trapped on a Swiss Glacier
Post by: Wild Weasel on March 16, 2012, 04:53:49 PM
Interesting article and photos from Der Speigel on the 1946 rescue of passengers from a downed American C-53 high in the Swiss Alps.  An excellent example of the power of ground and air team coordination, resiliance, training, pilot courage, and ground team determination.

Just a little encouragement for those training hard in CAP.
