For the Hawk Mountain Ranger School medic program do I have to go to basic first?

If you're referring to the 2-day weekend, no. That's essentially a First Aid/CPR course.

If you're referring to the week-long course, yes. You must have completed the summer training school (Basic).

*Exception: If you have not completed the summer school, you can use a letter of recommendation from your unit commander. This is not recommended due to the fact that you have no prior experience in this type of training, and it's a challenging course both physically and academically.

The websites above tell you all of the prerequisites you will need to attend. I strongly suggest you start doing some real research if you're serious about attending. That's a good start and a good path to being self-reliant, which is what these courses are supposed to be teaching you.
