Can we teach PPL ground school?

Saw this story about a CAP unit starting a private pilot ground school for anyone over 16.  Seems to be open to everyone.  I know that there are some rare cases where CAP can provide such instruction for adults, but had assumed that meant CAP members.  Or does the prohibition only mean we can't give instruction in the air?

Sure....they do it all the time (assuming you have a Ground School Instructor).

Yep, we've done it at least once (on a separate night).  One challenge is finding instructors who want to give away their bread and butter for free.

Conducting a PPL ground school is a very good thing given that a well-trained Mission Observer should be able to plan a mission, navigate, work the panel, and just about everything to do with a mission except fly the airplane.  A good Mission Pilot will have also made sure the Mission Observer has enough stick time to at least fly straight and level for a short distance.

Doing it also........

Doing it with CAP members who are FAA AGI's and CFI's in both LSA's and standard KS iron

Got BOTH seniors and cadets in some form of CFI, PPL, INST, COMML

Finding instructors for us is not too challenging...most of us are laid off anyway and what ever scratch we can pick on the civilian side, we'll muster that up.

On the CAP side when the CFI is inked...what difference does pay make?  CAP CFI types can not collect anyway

So us laid off  CAP types...well we just want to displace the CAP CFI's that do want to train or "can't come to the phone" to do Form 5's

When some of CAP CFI's get done.....after this class the FAA and CAP ride.......you think we are going to be the GOB's that are too busy??

It'll be race then to those  CAP aircraft that are sitting idle........and quite possibly embarrassing to the CAP CFI's that did not get in on the action....'cuz they were "toooo busy."
