Bird Strikes seem to be on the increase.

Not sure if its been posted here, but for MPs and MOs, here is a nice short powerpoint of info along with a short 10 question test that will get added to your Safety Education Record.

It's a major talking point at work each spring and fall, particularly in the northeast U.S.

Situational awareness is something that should begin before the flight even commences, to include awareness of the time of year, time of day, and what to encounter based on those factors (not just what you're visually scanning for after the takeoff roll begins).

Dead link.

I navigated to the powerpoint & quiz through eServices.

Stats are interesting, but lack recent data.  In the past I've run across more recent data that show both higher numbers of critter strikes in recent years, and offer some valuable regional perspective for interpretng the stats.  Strikes also vary by local features, such as presence (or absence) of nearby water, ag fields, swamps, coastal areas, wildlife/marine refuges, land fills, urban areas, etc.  IOW, a little S.A.is helpful for minimizing risk.

Worked for me too. No problems.

I see you guys have trouble sleeping (or experience screen deprivation anxiety).  :o

What? You didn't like our answers so you insult us?  Not cool. >:(

Yup, this one's a goner.

You need to be logged it for the link to work, but it does work.
