Here are two great SAR mission success stories from today's AFNORTH mission summary:

"The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency requested PA Civil Air Patrol (CAP) assistance in the search for a missing 82-year-old male hunter last seen on 18 Nov in the Tobyhanna State Park.  PA CAP provided a cell phone triangulation expert while ground teams were enroute.  The cell phone expert was able to provide a possible position to the Pennsylvania Dept of Conservation & Natural Resources (PA DCNR) personnel who in turn were able to locate the individual.  The individual was suffering from an injured back and mild case of hypothermia.  He was transported to a local hospital.

Montezuma County, Colorado sheriff requested assistance in the search for a missing 54-year-old male hiker on Hesperus Peak.  The objective was 12 hours overdue to meet his friends.  Area is snow patch and icy conditions.  CO Civil Air Patrol launched an aircraft, spotted the objective, and vectored in a [non-CAP] ground crew to assist."
