A recording at the company's Waterloo, Ontario, headquarters says: "Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a service interruption that is causing a delay in sending or receiving messages. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide updates as soon as they become available."

Not that many execs couldn't use a break from their little ball-n-chains (mine's an MDA, same tether issues, but working fine), but worse, we all should know by now how many government agencies depend on these things.

Personally I'd love to hand back my cell phone to my boss...the dang thing's nothing more than an electronic leash.  I miss the days of Organic Call Waiting...if you called me and I was on the phone, you had to wait.

Some organizations use Blackberries, et al, for alerting their ES forces.

Just out of curiosity, what is a BlackBerry? Is it like a PDA?

Crackberries apparently are in working order again.  Junkies may get their fix.

A musculoskeletal disorder has arisen from repeated BlackBerry use. Dubbed BlackBerry Thumb, it causes pain and tenderness in the thumbs to a point where people have problems using them, thus minimizing dexterity.

I'm sure Maj. B. Outage will be dealt with appropriately.  He may end up as Captain or Lieutenant Outage, if not just Mr. Outage after all is said and done.   ;D
