Chase Kelly Wireman, age 15, of Rensselaer passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 30, 2019. He was born October 3, 2003, in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Brett and April (Schanlaub) Wireman.

Chase attended the Rensselaer schools, recently completing his freshman year at Rensselaer Central High School. As a freshman at RCHS, Chase was a member of the Science Olympiad team.

He was affiliated with the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer and enjoyed serving the church as a volunteer. Chase was employed as a volunteer at the Rensselaer Branch of the Jasper County Library. He was a member and Cadet Staff Sergeant with the Civil Air Patrol, Rensselaer Squadron and held a 3rd degree black-belt in Taekwondo.

Chase was loved dearly by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his loving parents Brett and April Wireman and sister Ella of Rensselaer; maternal grandparents Bob Schanlaub of Rensselaer and Jerry and Ora Wolf of Wheatfield and his paternal grandmother, Shirley Wireman of Rensselaer. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Rob Schanlaub, Tim Schanlaub and Denny and Jessica Schanlaub, all of Rensselaer; Bobbi Jo and Butch Stalbaum and Rick and Mary Wireman, all of Medaryville, and Josh and Kristy Wireman of Rensselaer along with his many cousins.

Chase was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Wireman lovingly known as Papaw Bunchy.

Currently in Indiana wing commanding their encampment, which started Sunday.  Very sad time for a lot of the members here who knew him.
