May 14, 2018. Ted is predeceased by his parents Richard & Pauline Timmons. He is survived by his wife Donna M. (Kronz) Timmons, children, Nicole Timmons, David (Danielle Raymo) Timmons, Rob Hendricks & Danika Hendricks; brother David Lee (Cheryl Crim) Timmons; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ted Timmons was born November 22, 1949 in Defiance, OH. His parents, Richard and Pauline raised Ted and his brother David at their family's home there.During Ted's grade school years, he was gone all day - playing with friends, exploring and swimming in the Defiance community pool. Once Ted hit his teen years he developed a love for music. He began playing the drums and the bass. He would openly admit that he was a horrible student. He was easily distracted by normal things that can pull a young man's attention astray. Ted lived his life enjoying the three F's: Family, Flying and Fun. He was a licensed pilot. He owned his own plane and gliders. He served as a mission pilot and flight instructor in the Civil Air Patrol, and was a tow pilot and instructor in the Finger Lakes Soaring Club. Ted's favorite plane's call numbers were N111TJ. Donna and Ted would go away every year to celebrate their anniversary and visited locations such as Mexico, Grand Canyon, Yosemite Park, Niagara Falls, Acadia National Park, Mackinac Island, Block Island, Ottawa, Alaska, Russia, Montreal and the San Juan Islands.  Donna recalled twisting Ted's arm to take up ballroom dancing; while initially Ted did it to please her, he eventually grew to enjoy it even more than she did. Ted loved taking in the beauty of the outdoors. He was at home behind the controls of either his plane or glider. When not enjoying life in the air, he looked forward to a series of boats, motorcycles, bicycles and cars. Ted and Donna shared special times hiking at the many parks they visited across the country.Ted was extremely proud of his family. He loved Donna, Nicole, David, Rob, and Danika very much. He always looked forward to getting together with family especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.He always had to keep his brain moving. During his "down time" he could be found mastering a Rubik's Cube, figuring out brainteasers, putting together a jigsaw puzzle or playing his guitar.He liked watching The Big Bang Theory, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jeopardy, and Steven Colbert. He often listened to rock and roll from the 70's. He enjoyed James Taylor, Buddy Rich, Fleetwood Mac, and Bonnie Raitt. ­­­­His favorite song was "Where've You Been?" by Kathy Mattea. Those who knew Ted will remember him as being unconventional, intelligent, humorous, honest, family-centered, loyal, hardworking, dependable, and fun-loving. His thirst for knowledge never ceased. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
