True that...    With the digital restoration of many of the Apollo launch films you can catch details that were not very obvious in the original broadcasts. You can now see the tops of the S-IC fin fairings blowing off at S-IC/S-II staging as the S-IC retrorockets ignite.

Michael Collins, Carrying the Fire. A good Apollo read. Also, Milt Thompson's X-15 memoir. That was a sub-orbital demon, and scary even to read about.
