I wonder what the Nebraska state staffers issuing these Commissions are thinking with the sharp rise in requests.  ::)

And they may  just be going to some functionary in the Dept of Tourism who's not making any connections, or devoting any thought as to why, but still grumbling about having to make more trips than usual to supply for those darned certificates. ;D  You guys may be lucky.  If the requests go above a certain threshold, I'll bet that some bureaucrat somewhere will want to start charging for them, or something equally misplaced and inane..  But y'all won't care, 'cause you've got  yours!  Hooray!!

V/R,

What else would a guy in the Nebraska Department of Tourism have to do?  "Nebraska Tourist Hot Spots" has to be about as thick of a book as "French War Heroes" and "Who's Who in Darfur!"

I feel insulted. J. Fred Muggs was an Admiral. I still am waiting for my commission. Does this mean that J. Fred Muggs outranks all CAP Officers? Did Admiral Muggs ever wear a uniform?

I just ordered these off eBay ... yes, I know they only have two stars, but hey -- the scrambled eggs at the bottom can stand for something, too!

Here they are ... my official Nebraska Navy admiral's shoulderboards!

No ... they're a unique design, as far as I can tell.  The backing is dull gold, the stars bright gold, and I don't think the Navy has ever used oak leaves in that design before.  They're perfect for my needs!

In my size?  Does Omar the Tentmaker still make uniforms?   :D   ;D

I wouldn't mind a set of chokers ... let me dress 'em up so I'm different from the good old USN and we'll see.  52R jacket, 44R pants ... anybody know of such a thing?

All you'd need is a Bullion Crest of the State of Nebraska Seal, on top of the nametag.

Of course, I've just realized that, in a set of dress whites, I'd bear a striking resemblance to the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Maybe chokers aren't the best idea for me ...

NAYBOR

Admiral "NAYBOR" of the Nebraska Navy, reporting for duty!

Anyone know if there really is a uniform for this commission?  Maybe patterned after the State naval militias (bright red name tag, state seal on the lower left pocket of all uniforms, regular US Navy sholder boards, seal of the State of Nebraska over/in place of the the US shield on the combo cap officers emblem)?

How does one go about getting a commission as an admiral in the Texas Navy?  I hear you can seek those too.

What other state commissions are out there, besides SDF or NG?
