Has anyone ordered from Propper for ABU's? They have a killer sale going on right now. I know they're in regs, but was looking for some feedback before I ordered. Thanks in advance.

Paul Creed III

Yes, mine are Propper and they have served me well.

That's because...soon... no one besides CAP members will want them. Just saying.  ;)

Awesome! Thank y'all!

All of the uniforms I gotten from Propper, BDUs, Blue BDUs and ABUs have all been good quality.

Replace "soon" with "at least a year ago" and we'll be closer to the target.

No, the "official" wear out date is April 1, 2021 per AFI 36-2903. Sounds like soon to me.

True, but realistically nobody is buying new ones in enough quantity to justify stocking them anywere.  The MCS on the AFB next to me replaced their ABU aisles with OCPs a year ago.

The ones that are out there are by and large old sets being worn until the absolute last minute, which happened with BDUs too.  But good luck finding those bad boys on the shelf that last year or so.

Same with the Army when we switched from ACU to OCP. Those still wearing ACUs were frugal or getting out of the Service soon.

I bought one set of OCPs for "uniformity" in certain formations but wore the ACUs right up to the deadline. Had a heck of a time trying to find ACU LTC Rank when I got promoted and pretty much went with OCPs from that point forward.

This is why CAP should be getting the ball rolling on the authorization to wear an OCP USAF-style uniform. Just saying.

Maybe they are working on the authorization. Us folks on the street really don't have a "need to know" until they have something to report. We're talking about stuff in the "echelons above reality" realm here.

That's possible, but at the most recent public statement I've heard from Maj Gen Smith is that it won't even be considered until the ABU phase in is complete.
