So now we have one more orphan item for the member, a BLUE boonie for the blue utility uniform.  Well, maybe that means they are going to try to talk the Air Force into allowing us to wear the BDU boonie with our BDU's??  Some guys in this and some guys in that and some gals in these, sure it's uniform, isn't it???  Isn't that what uniformity is all about??

Woohoo!  Now I get to wear a boonie hat and get to be the cool one.  8) ::)

Hmm. A new uniform policy letter published on April Fools... it's actually pretty fitting. :)

I like the Boonie for the ODU better.  Doesn't have the tape around it.

If you ask me, the boonie hat with the blue BDU looks like a SWAT uniform. I just may have to bite my lip, and cross over.

CAP corporate service uniform
CAP white-and-gray uniform
Golf shirt and gray slacks

FLIGHT DUTY
Air Force flight suit
CAP blue flight suit
CAP orange flight suit
CAP white-and-gray uniform
Golf shirt and gray slacks

UTILITY UNIFORMS

CAP blue BDU
CAP white-and-gray uniform

MESS DRESS

What was that about uniformity? And am I missing anything?

Personal opinion: Air Force uniforms, plus ONE alternative -- which should be more than enough -- for each type of uniform for fat/fuzzy people.

Under "FLIGHT DUTY", the CAP  orange flight is not authorized. THe CAP Utility Uniform (dark blue cotton/poly flightsuit) is.

Under "UTILITY UNIFORMS", you forgot the CAP utility uniform.

Under "MESS DRESS", golf shirt is not authorized. Blazer w/ black bow tie and one mini-medal (optional), and w/o nameplate is authorized.

Are you considering the blazer uniform to be the CAP corporate uniform under "DRESS UNIFORMS"?

Heck, I didn't like them when I was in Security Forces.  If I wanted to wear one I'd been born a Frenchman

Also, any uniform is authorized for flight duty. I wore my BDUs for awhile until I got my flight suit.

OK so the boonie hat has the shotgun shell holder thingymajigger how are you supposed to sew your grade insignia 1/2'' above the visor? I don't actully plan on wearing one, just pointing out the lack of forethought.

Finally, a women's golf shirt!

There's a difference?

The womens version doesn't have a pocket.

So basically what they're saying is that the boonie is useful and practical enough to warrant what amounts to an emergency change letter, but only if you don't wanna wear camo.

Doesn't anyone else think it's flat out stupid that 39-1 still hasn't been updated, even through the bloody think is online in PDF format?

I'm hoping it's not see-through.

Well, thats a start. I was thinking maybe the collar opened the other way or it was tailored(made) differently to accommodate a women's figure.

Women's polos are generally cut fuller through the chest and fitted through the waist.  What exactly they mean in this case, I suppose I'll have to wait and see.

and usually 3 button versus 4...  The sleeves should be shorter as well and the collar not as prominent/tall.  In other words, it's more feminine looking :)

yaaaaay...5 polo variations now!  unless...this comes in the usual 3 variations too?
