Title: Wierd
Post by: SSgt Rudin on March 15, 2008, 12:27:46 AM
I keyed my hand held VHF (evidently) too close to my computer monitor and it brought up the monitor menu and if i keyed it again it started making adjustments. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Oh, I wanna try that with mine (VX-150).

The monitor is likely inadequately shielded.

CRT or LCD? I'll bet that makes a difference, as the above ^ implies, you could have a cheap monitor so shielding wouldn't be as strong.

Don't ya just LOVE the Part 15 FCC rules? "Oh, by the way, you can't bother anything else, but if something bothers you, well....you're just going to have to deal with it."

Yea, sounds to me like a shielding problem. Hey, radio waves and IR remote control signals are both part of the EM spectrum after all, so stands to reason there's a radio equivalent of the "universal remote", haha.
