I'm sure my oldest unit will celebrate the birthday as they have for years with a cake and the tradition of the oldest member serving the newest.

The Colorado Wing will salute and award cadet Curry's at the grave of (our first national commander) Major General John F. Curry at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Lakewood. We'll do this ceremony every first Saturday in December in honor of CAP day. We'll conduct this ceremony no matter the weather. He is worth a little cold conditions. (You can read more about this event in AeroSpace Education under the Rediscovering Maj. Gen. John F. Curry_

THEN - In the afternoon -- we'll honor the largest single mission save in CAP history in a 30th Anniversary Commemoration,(Flight 217 on Buffalo Pass Dec 4/5, 1978). This commemoration will bring together ES rescue Crews, aircraft survivors, the surviving member of the aircrew, and dignitaries at Wings Over the Rockies Air Museum in Denver at the old Lowry Air base. Both events will be Sat. Dec. 6th. Both events are closed to the public and by invitation only... but we think we'll have press, CAP Commanders, and State Leaders.
With regards;
