Kathleen Margaret Sirois (nee Lowry) (Aug 17, 1944 - Dec 15, 2022)
Kathy passed away on Thursday evening at home in Bridgewater NJ after a long struggle with breast cancer. She was born in Teaneck NJ at Holy Name Hospital and grow up in Palisades Park NJ on Columbus Ave. She graduated from Cliffside Park High School and then studied at Colorado State College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort Collins, CO. before switching careers to telecommunications.
Kathy's began working at New York Telephone in 1964 as a switchboard operator, then a customer service representative, switchman (central office technician), and a central office foreman, then accepted a temporary 3-year assignment at the Network Software Center in Lisle IL writing software specifications. Afterwards she returned to a position with AT&T Technologies in Warren NJ. Retiring with 30 years of service.
Kathy loved to travel to new places as often as possible, with the whole family and sometimes that included her parents or in-laws. She had a special fondness for Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii which she kept circling back to many times. She would often say that we need to travel while we are still able to do the trips and not put them off; she was right.
Kathy liked to speed read books, newspaper and magazines with a special interest in local and national politics. She would follow all the news outlets as well to understand the different points of view.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents Ruth Ann (nee DeMarrais) and James Patrick Lowry, brother James Patrick Lowry of Wyckoff NJ and sister Patricia Ann Maadi of Simi Valley CA., brother-in-law Arthur J Sirois and his wife Beverly Claire Sirois of Pleasant Valley NY and Killeen TX., and nephew Brett Sirois of Shokan NY
Kathy is survived by her husband of 46 years Joseph Vincent Sirois and son Joseph James Sirois of Bridgewater NJ, her stepdaughter Clarissa and husband Rodrigo Mancheno of Jacksonville FL, brother Peter J. Lowry and his wife Geraldine of Wayne NJ and Gardnerville NV, and her sister-in-law Kathleen Lowry of Wyckoff NJ. and brother-in-law Edward R Sirois and his wife Kathy. She is also survived by her 2 grand children Vincent Mancheno and Isabella Mancheno, nephews Brian Lowry and his wife Karen and their 2 sons, Anthony Miranda and his wife Mary and their son and daughter and their families, Cameron Maadi and his 2 daughters, nieces Suzanne and her husband Masood Assadollahzadeh and their 3 daughters and their families, Shirin and Bijan Mohajer and their son and daughter and their families, Elizabeth Anne and her husband Charles Angle and their son, Eileen Lowry, Kerry and her husband Mark Spanner and their daughter, and Angelique Claire Sirois and her daughter.
