I just saw a copy of orders from National appointing Lt Col Edward Lee to the permanent grade of Colonel, CAP.

Congratulations, Ned, you earned this the hard way!!!

MSG Mac

Outstanding, Ned!  Or should I say, "Outstanding, sir!"

I always said I was glad it was you that got the BOG seat if I couldn't get it.

All the best ...

Great News, and thoroughly deserved!

    Indeed...great news for a well deserving individual.  Col Ned Lee is truly the epitome of a great servant/leader.   Consider it a privilege to serve with him and to call him a friend...as well as a "friend of the Chaplain Corps"  ;)
Disclaimer:  Not to be confused with the other user that goes by "Chappy"   :)

Never heard of him....

It is about time that this organization did something this right! Congrats, sir. Fair winds and following seas...

Ned

Thank you all for your kind words.  I had no idea this was in the works, and was totally surprised.

Since I hadn't been promoted in the last 15 years, the Vanguard tab was a bit larger than I expected.  I guess we call it CAP for a reason.

I write this from Beijing, where I arrived a few hours ago on CAP business.  If all goes well, we should see a membership increase of a billion or two. 😉

The internets here are slow, and social media sites are blocked.  Take a moment and appreciate America and the hosts of CAPTalk for allowing us to express ourselves.

Even if it is mostly about uniforms.

MSG Mac

Now Jay Altieri will expect it when he leaves the BOG. :) Seriously I feel Col should come with the appointment.

Col Lee got the promotion for all the hard work he's done for CAP. It's well deserved.

Congratulations, sir!

Ohfacryinoutloud.  They made you PAY for your new eagles, Sir?

What's going in China?  Are you trying to organise a CAP there? ;D

Lt Col. Mike McArdle and I are here at the invitation of the Shandong Aviation Industry Association to brief them and the Chinese Air Force on youth aviation programs.  Incredibly interesting so far.  I just opened up some of their background briefing information and found that Volume 2 of the "Contribute to the Nation with Aviation" magazine has about a dozen pictures of our own Gen Courter andt Col Bev Scoggins in some sort of feature story.  My written Mandarin is a little rusty, but my guess is that is about IACE.

Very close sir. In kanji it is "Hello Kitty, kitty is well?" Another example of being lost in translation.  8)

None of that is Kanji. It's all Katakana, and a phonetic representation of the English words. About like what Pat wrote.
