Getting old sucks - but it beats the alternative.....

Wildomar, CA is between Lake Elsinore and Temecula on Interstate 15.  My home is off of Bundy Canyon Road, about midway between I-15 and I-215.  We're an unincorporated* portion of southern Riverside County.

[*but that's in the process of changing.  Wildomar is working toward incorporation as a city, should be on the next ballot.]

***BACK SURGERY SUCKS****

How can a 1 1/2" incision feel like they used a chainsaw?

They said it was successful, but I won't believe them until I have complete control of my own bowels.  :'(

The real reason for the surgery was to replace UK's nuclear battery pack.  Now he's good to go for another 35 years.  ;)

I didn't know you had clearance to have knowledge of "UK" and his working systems.  Interesting...

Hope you feel better soon!

The reason it hurts so much is that it was probably about 3 inches deep and bigger at the bottom than on the outside.  One of the biggest causes of failed back surgery is smoking, but I am sure that your doctor already warned you about that.  You might try alternating hot and cold packs to increase healing and remove some of the inflammation.  Also, don't try to overdo it until you get clearance from the doctor.  One of my patients came in on Monday in terrible shape.  I had worked on him on the prior Friday and he had been doing much better.  I asked him what he did and he said nothing..  His wife told me that he had been feeling so much better on Saturday that he had gone out and cut firewood.. and then strangely couldn't get out of bed on Sunday..Take it easy and listen to the doctor.. After all, you paid him so listen to him..

Odd, all the people who work with him allways report high concentrations of methane...

Not a smoker, never have been, hate smoking.  I'd dump the hottest girl if she smoked...

Called doc and he said I could take 2 percocets if one wasn't working.  Now I feel pretty good.  Thank goodness for On Demand cable TV, DVR, CAPTalk, a hot wife, a dog who fetches nothing, and a certain former Spaatz cadet who is sending me fudge...  I promise to lay off the random postings and stuff...but I am bored out of my mind.

I've got an 80 lb black lab (5 years old) and a 15 month old son.  Between those two, my wife and percocet, I'm doing just fine....  NOT!

Glad to see that you are on your way to feeling better. I am still having pain with my knee. I am off work for another 3 weeks. The longer I am off the better I feel.

Plus good meds. Down fall is I could have picked up some OT but had to pass.

Anyone notice a sudden decrease in posts from yours truly?

Went back to work on Thursday with my 5 on 4 off night schedule (2100 to 0700).  Day 1 was training with CQB in a "ship in the box", a 4 story "island" of an aircraft carrier.  Pretty cool stuff.  Worked with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT.  Friday night brought me back in with a bang.  Drove up on a domestic in progress.  Just me and a drunk couple whaling on each other.  No back problems resulted but I did put my new Oakley gloves to the test.  Held up like a champ.

Been at the gym almost 4 weeks now but have stuck to the elliptical until today.  Ran 1 1/2 miles (AF PT standard) on the treadmill in 13 minutes.  Not bad if you ask me.  Goal is 10 minutes.

Gained 10 lbs since mid-August and already lost 3.  Can I get a little hooah?  HOOAH!
