In the last couple months I've gotten this same CAP card, along with the same for my EAA membership:

And yes, yet another one for AAA:

I thought I was 'special' when I got the CAP card, but then the others came and I realized the Office Depot marketing department is  hitting up all the orgs they can find.

This is not new. It has been in existence for awhile. If you go to the members area, they appear there. Among others you can get rebates for oil and gas - seem to remember the oil and gas is for airplanes only. Also you can get discounts at hotel chains as well in the same general section.

I can't remember the last time I set foot in any office supply store.
FWIW, this card is thicker then a member ID, so there's that.

Since I worked in Brooklyn, I took advantage of the card. I have lived in Queens ever since I started working in New York City. There has been a Staples nearby. Sometimes not as near as I would like. However the only Home Office Depot I know of is in Brooklyn. Too far for me. I would pass at least 4 Staples to reach that Office Depot. Which negates any advantage...

Aren't they all the same company now?

I can't even figure out what I'd buy at an office store that I can't get cheaper / faster elsewhere.

No, OD bought out Office Max. Staples is still OD's primary competitor.

That was my first thought as well. I miss the late 90s era membership cards...

^^ Doesn't appear to work - I have that checked and still got one.

I'm more concerned as to why, after adding a secondary address, I've now received this, and a wing banker check to my work address vs my primary home address...

IMO, this is a major problem.  Either NHQ is [un?]intentionally provided member names, addresses, and employer addresses to third parties without our consent, or someone has downloaded and sold that list.  As this seems to be a CAP sponsor of some sort, it's probably an unintentional former, but that's both disappointment and concerning if that's what happened.

I had the "Keep my information private" box checked within 5 minutes of my first login to eservices.

Alternatively, did you previously register an officemax/depot card before this using the link on the discount site?

I made the assumption that I got it because I did already register for an account.

FWIW, I'm also opted out for the public release of information.

Today is the second day in a row I've received a call from Office Depot offering to "assist" me setup my CAP account. The caller ID of the number is the same as the one on the Office Depot ad on the capmembers.com homepage, just different callers each day. The listing on the CAP web page:
For assistance with your business account please call:
855-337-6811 X 12897 or email: Jeremy.kirkland@officedepot.com

The caller yesterday told me that "so and so" left the company and he was just going down her list of accounts. Today's caller said he was following up from yesterday's call. I wonder if this is going to become a daily annoyance.

The calls have come to my work phone number. I have always had (and still have) the "keep my information private" box checked. Checking the box apparently means nothing.
